La Seu d'Urgell - Castellbó - Sant Joan de l'Erm - Pic de l'Orri

We will leave la Seu and take the road N-260, bound to the village of Montferrer. At the crossing, we will take the road on the right which will lead us to the village of Castellbó (809m) where we can see Santa Maria's church, with romanesque and gothic elements. We will take the road on the left, past the villages of Carmeniu (1.223m), Turbiàs, where we can visit a dolmen, les Eres, Sant Andreu, until we get to Sant Joan de l'Erm (1.700m). In Sant Joan de l'Erm there is the mountain hostel Refugi de la Basseta, open all year round. In winter, it is a cross-country ski resort and in Summer, it is a good starting point for excursions on mountain bike or on foot . It offers customers a bar-restaurant service and lodging. To reach Pic de l'Orri, we will follow the direction of the forest house of Pallerols, past Coll de Leix (1.726m), until we get to barranc de Sant Miquel. From here, we will go up the track on the right bound to Pic de l'Orri (2.439m). The peak offers a great panorama, one of the best sights of the Pyrenees region. It is also the highest spot of the down-hill ski resort of Port-Ainé, in the Pallars area. From here, we can either go back on the same track or go down to Pallars, bound to Montenartró (1.238m), Roní and Rialp, on the Noguera Pallaresa river, a river devoted to adventure sports. Past the town of Sort, we will take the road called Cantó to return to la Seu.
